New Year, Better Organization
The beginning of the year always welcomes resolutions. Time to change oneself for the better. This may include weight, giving up vices like smoking, aiming to reach financial goals, and much more. Once you have your resolution in mind the next step is to create the environment you need to succeed. For many of us that includes a clean, organized space. Why is this? Clean spaces reduce stress and promote efficiency. Pantry’s are the perfect example. I’m sure I’m not the only one who could be doing better in this area... But that’s on my to do list for later. Today let’s talk about 3 things that ARE working for me.
1. An alphabetized pantry. Trust me it’s life changing. Do away with premix spices and make your own to make this easier. Make sure that your spices are lined on the front edge so you have space behind them. Use that space behind to store bulk salts or things like baking soda and cocoa powder. If you want a nice cohesive look buy empty spice bottles and move your spices to them. Label each with a label maker or buy labels online. If you need more space than one row buy spice risers. They instantly triple the amount of spice you have.
2. Use drawer dividers to create a custom organized look that fits your needs. I used these in my coffee bar drawer and spatula drawer. When you divide spaces and assign what goes in them, you will find it easier. Functional spaces make life easier!
3. Move items off of your counter and into drawers. I can’t be the only one that has noticed that layer of dust in my spatula when I go to use it. By putting them in drawers it practically eliminates this issue. Also, in drawer knife blocks are great to get the bulky block off your counter. I was able fit my steak knives and chopping knives into one in drawer block by doing this.
Let me know if any of these tips helped you. Also, share what’s working for you. Happy organization people! 😁
